How to apply for ERASMUS exchange

Deadline of the submission of applications and requirements for 2021/2022 
The only deadline for the applications is May 15, 2021. This date serves as the deadline for both academic terms – fall term and spring term of 2021/2022 academic year – and for one academic year exchanges as well. 
However FAMU prefers two-semestral stays and will give a preferency to them. We want to offer to the participants the most of practical exercises as possible. 
The results of the application process will be announced till mid-June. 
The official Exchange application form should be accompanied by: 
– CV 
– motivation letter 
– on-line presentation of the student’s audiovisual portfolio – document containing a link to a portfolio

During the admission process FAMU admission committee seeks for professional skills namely in the field of sound design, editing, set design and costume design.

 Applicants will be informed via e-mail by the end of May whether or not they have been accepted. The duration of the program is either one semester (please notify clearly if you apply for fall or spring) or one academic year (fall + spring). Please note that every applicant must be nominated by their university coordinator.

Courses and language of tuition 
In accordance with the regulations of the Erasmus+ program students may attend the theoretical lectures and seminars that are accredited at FAMU. These lectures are common to both the Erasmus and the FAMU International study programs. 
Production of the personal projects is not possible within the exchange stay, however participation in the projects of the others is more than welcome and also granted with credits.

How to apply for Free Mover

The same restrictions and program as described in the Erasmus section applies to a Free Mover. Free movers are students coming from outside the contracted universities within the Erasmus exchange program. 

To apply, please deliver an application directly to exchange coordinator Vít Kořínek according to the Erasmus+ instructions. The default course curriculum is the same as for the Erasmus+ students.



The duration of the academic year 2020/2021 is as follows:

Start of the courses in the 2020/2021 academic year 28/09/2020
Course enrollment: Add & drop period 1st semester 28/09 - 25/10/2020
1st semester (12 weeks of instruction) 28/09 - 23/12/2020
Winter holidays 24/12/2020 - 03/01/2021
Examination period for 1st semester (6 weeks) 04/01 - 12/02/2021
Course enrollment: Add & drop period for the 2nd semester (5 weeks) 01/02 - 07/03/2021
2nd semester (14 weeks of instruction) 15/02 - 23/05/2021
Examination period 2nd Semester (6 weeks) 24/05 - 30/06/2021


Applicants need to be aware that FAMU cannot provide housing in Prague.

Try to start at the www.expats.cz to find housing.

When accepted you are going to get a link for the students' social media groups to look for shared accommodation.
