4. March 2020 20:30
One World 2020 Film Festival to welcome a distinguished guest, Ukrainian film director Oleh Sentsov.
The critic of Russia's authoritarian regime and political prisoner will discuss exclusively film matters during a debate at FAMU. The discussion will focus on the films that Sentsov has made prior to his arrest in 2014 as well as on how he remotely collaborated with his colleagues on other projects while imprisoned in Siberia. The discussion will focus on the Process documentary, which Askold Kurov made about Sentsov's five-year imprisonment, and on the new film Numbers made by the directing tandem of Oleh Sentsov and Akhtem Seitablayev, which premiered at the Berlinale this year.
The discussion will be held in Room U1 on the first floor. Simultaneous interpreting into Czech and English is provided. The debate is publicly accessible to everybody interested.
Oleh Sentsov is the guest of this year's edition of the One World Film Festival and a keynote speaker at the official opening to be held at the Prague Crossroads Centre on 5 March 2020.
